Summary

This study aims to propose a design and operation method to improve the performance and minimize the initial cost of the vertical closed-loop ground source heat pump (GSHP) system. Numerical simulation was conducted to accurately predict the heat exchanger rate (HER) and entering water temperature (EWT) of the GSHP system, and the performance changes according to operation methods such as flow rate, operation time, and limit temperature were analyzed. As a result, the HER and EWT were 34.3W/m and 10.26℃, respectively, under the base case conditions.
