Summary

This study aimed to identify the textual characteristics of children’s poetry from a cognitive poetics perspective. Analyzing children’s poetry using cognitive poetics theories (foreground-background, mental space, script theory) revealed emotional resonance through simple expression, expansion of aesthetic space through symbols, and expansion of meaning as an open text. The speaker in children’s poetry embodies both the experiencing self and the expressing self, shaping ‘confessional mediation.’
