Summary
This study analyzed human errors of pilots related to air traffic control (ATC) communication through LOSA (Line Operation Safety Audit). The most frequent communication error by pilots was the wrong readback to ATC, and the error rate was higher in airlines with a large proportion of international flights. The error management rate improved by 46% after LOSA, and airlines can improve their systems by providing pilot training and situation awareness content for ATC communication error management.
