Summary

This study explored the meaning of student teaching through picture journals written by preservice early childhood teachers before, during, and after their practice. The results showed that they experienced excitement and fear before practice, satisfaction and growth during practice, and regret and commitment to becoming a teacher after practice. Writing picture journals can be useful for self-reflection and improving guidance in early childhood education.
