This study aims to prove that the first ‘NP-ka’ in a state-property adjective phrase is a syntactic topic through subjecthood tests. When the semantic relation between the two ‘NP-ka’ is human relation or alienable possession, the first ‘NP-ka’ does not satisfy subjecthood tests, while it does when the relation is object-property or whole-part and the referents are identical.
