Summary

This study addressed the issue of Korean translation students overly relying on source text structures by analyzing the differences in Korean-English writing styles based on Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) and applying it to translation education, following the increased interest in literary translation after a Korean novel won an international prize. Through the education, students enhanced their awareness of the differences between languages and took their first step towards producing more natural target texts, moving away from strict adherence to the source text structures.
