Summary
This study explores the reflections of social workers during a participatory action research project aimed at improving practice methods in community welfare center single parent self-help groups. The results revealed that social workers experienced changes in their perceptions regarding the inadequacy of existing practices, a new perspective on the relationship between members and social workers, the potential for client-led practice, a deeper understanding of self-help groups, and a renewed recognition of the development of self-help groups. Based on these findings, the study discusses the importance of empowerment and reflective practice.
