Summary

This study examined the perceptions of working mothers with 5-year-old children regarding preparation for elementary school entrance through the lens of the ‘figured world’ theory. The findings revealed that working mothers perceive elementary school as the beginning of formal academics and are influenced by motherhood discourse and network discourse emphasizing the mother's responsibility for child education. Despite time constraints, working mothers actively seek quality interactions with their children, utilize available resources, and explore options like leave to address challenges related to school entrance.
