Summary

This study examines the possibility of linking the ETS between Korea and China by analyzing the institutional design elements and identifying barriers to linkage. While the two ETSs share similar cap types, differences exist in borrowing systems, offsets, and price ceilings. Modifying the Korean domestic borrowing system and understanding Chinese institutional processes are necessary for further cooperation.
