Summary
This study explored the parenting experiences and their meaning of parents raising young children with disabilities through focus group interviews with four parents in Seoul. The results showed that the parenting experience was divided into three stages, from recognizing the child's disability to experiencing a changed life, with subcategories such as denial and despair, companionship, pursuit of happiness, changed perspective, and family love in each stage. This can contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the parenting process of parents with young children with disabilities.
