Summary

This study investigated the theoretical background and current status of evidence-based coaching in the U.S., analyzing the characteristics of a coaching system that promotes teachers’ reflective practice based on classroom observation data using the CLASS. The findings revealed that evidence-based coaching contributes to the professional development of early childhood teachers through government support and a systematic infrastructure, and suggests establishing objective criteria and policy efforts for its application to Korean early childhood teacher education.
