Summary

This study proposes a method for optimizing the modulus of elasticity, friction coefficient, and contact stiffness of brake pads to reduce squeal noise generated in the brake system of urban railway vehicles. Squeal noise was analyzed using ABAQUS and PIAnO, the importance of influencing factors was identified through the design of experiment and ANOM, and a method for reducing noise by analyzing the effect of squeal noise generated by the brake pad slot pattern is suggested.
