Summary

This study used Q-methodology to confirm that Daegu voters perceive the local party system as important and agree on the need to strengthen the role of parties and improve the system. Voters showed three perspectives on the reform of the local party system: party democratization, strengthening local autonomy, and legal institutionalization. Notably, unlike previous research, there was no debate on the usefulness of political parties, and there was high interest in allowing the establishment of local parties.
