Summary

This study compared the ingredient and efficacy of Galgeun-tang (GGT) mix extract powder and decoction using HPLC analysis to determine the content of ten index components, antioxidant effect, and anti-inflammatory effect. The GGT mix extract powder contained higher puerarin and daidzin content, while the GGT decoction contained higher cinnamic acid and glycyrrhizic acid content, but the overall composition was similar. The GGT decoction also showed a slightly higher antioxidant effect, and both formulations similarly inhibited the production of NO, iNOS, COX-2, TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 in LPS-induced RAW 264.7 macrophages.
