Summary

This study investigates the relationship between social and emotional competencies and achievement emotions in secondary school students to provide basic data for improving their emotional health and academic achievement. The results showed that middle school students tended to have higher positive achievement emotions and lower negative achievement emotions than high school students, and higher social and emotional competencies were associated with higher positive and lower negative achievement emotions. Specifically, responsible decision-making, self-management, and self-awareness were found to influence achievement emotions.
