Summary

This study confirmed that a skillstreaming program linked with the ‘Career and Job’ curriculum is effective in improving the social skills and employment readiness of middle school students with intellectual disabilities. The results showed that students in the intervention group demonstrated significant improvements in social skills (cooperation, assertiveness, self-control) and employment readiness (self-esteem, work ethic, social skills) compared to the control group. This suggests its potential as an alternative career education program to enhance the employability of students with intellectual disabilities in special education settings.
