Summary
This paper reviews the expansion of geographical research from real space to virtual space with the development of information and communication technology, and explores new research topics for economic geography. It argues that combining information and communication geography with virtual geography can empirically reveal the physicality of virtual space and effectively analyze the changing economic landscape. However, it acknowledges the potential for data and technological deterministic criticism and suggests a direction for the development of economic geography in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
