This study analyzes the patterns of ‘stigma’ revealed in Yoo Chi-Hwan’s poetry, focusing on Nussbaum’s theory of shame. Instead of stigmatizing others to conceal his own shame, Yoo Chi-Hwan attempted self-reflection and transformation of existence by stigmatizing himself. This aesthetics of stigma is a unique feature of his poetic world and serves as an energy source for exploring the meaning of human existence.
