Summary

This study analyzes the journalism ethics issues revealed during the 2018 #MeToo movement in Korea through the lens of Korean media's reporting practices and organizational structures. In-depth interviews revealed gender discrimination in the process of news selection, coverage, and reporting related to the #MeToo movement, with a lack of women gatekeepers hindering in-depth reporting. Solutions include increasing the representation of women journalists in higher positions, enhancing gender sensitivity, and institutionalizing journalism ethics education.
