Summary

This study analyzed the structural relationship among student and school-level variables affecting junior high school students' Korean academic achievement using multilayered structural equation modeling. At the student level, reading motivation, attitudes toward Korean subject, and family environment positively influenced academic achievement, while teachers' recognition of students' class attitudes positively affected academic achievement at the school level. The findings suggest the need for strengthening reading education, supporting self-directed learning, and expanding the unification of curriculum-class-evaluation.
