Summary

This study explored the characteristics of Waldorf education and the formation of teachers’ educational philosophies through in-depth life history interviews with two Waldorf school teachers. The results indicated that teachers formed their educational philosophies through school years and social experiences, and came to understand children based on Steiner’s anthroposophy through Waldorf education. Furthermore, teachers strengthen their educational competence through community activities and self-reflection, and approach student education.
