This study analyzes the grammaticalization process of location space-words. Location space-words such as ‘뒤, 위, 밖, 겉, 데’ change into affixes, postpositions, and endings, and are grammaticalized through mechanisms such as metaphor, reanalysis, analogy, and fusion. The timing of grammaticalization for each location space-word varies from Middle Korean to Modern Korean.
