Summary

This study examined the impact of integrating multicultural children’s literature with a culturally responsive teaching model on elementary students’ English reading ability and understanding of multiculturalism. The results revealed that the integrated lessons enhanced students’ English reading skills and interest, fostered cultural understanding and respect, and helped overcome cultural prejudices. Notably, multicultural students were empowered by sharing their cultural assets and developing empathy.
