Summary

This study clarifies the semantic function of the auxiliary verb ‘cwu-’ derived from a dative verb and its position as an auxiliary verb through analysis of its semantic functions and syntactic characteristics. Corpus analysis reveals that ‘cwu-’ is undergoing grammaticalization, exhibits diverse syntactic structures, and is evolving from ‘giving’ to ‘benefit’, ultimately expressing the speaker’s advantage.
