Summary

This study investigated the self-efficacy of pre-service elementary teachers regarding science instruction for underrepresented students and identified differences based on background factors. The self-efficacy of 81 pre-service teachers was measured in three dimensions: learning efficacy, teaching efficacy, and outcome expectancy, and the reliability of the measurement tool was verified through factor analysis and validity assessment. The results showed significant relationships between pre-service teachers’ interest in science, their engagement with science education, and their perception of the value of science learning and their self-efficacy.
