Summary

This study examined the mediating effect of spirituality on the relationship between social support and motivation for change among patients with alcohol use disorder. The results indicated that while social support did not directly impact motivation for change, spirituality mediated the relationship, showing a positive effect of social support on motivation through spirituality. Based on these findings, the study suggests the need for social work intervention services to enhance spirituality in the recovery process of patients with alcohol use disorder.
