Summary

This study examines how metaphors are used in linguistic violence phenomena such as hate speech, focusing on why metonymy and metaphor are frequently used in hateful and aggressive language. Metonymic collective naming simplifies human diversity by exaggerating specific elements, while metaphorical collective naming is used to disparage target groups by projecting negative images. These metaphors appear in the form of animalization, objectification, and demonization, ultimately linked to the mechanism of dehumanization.
