Summary

This study explored the learning experiences of middle-aged women who entered graduate school for life redesign through case study research. The findings revealed that they pursued graduate studies for reasons such as acquiring degrees and expertise, responding to an aging society, connecting past experiences, and fulfilling learning conditions, but faced challenges due to heavy workloads and insufficient foundational knowledge, relying on limited support from the graduate school. This highlights the need for establishing a lifelong learning system tailored to middle-aged learners in an aging society.
