일본군 성노예 피해자 부고기사와 집단 기억의 형성

Author

Summary

This study analyzed the role of obituaries of Japanese military sexual slavery victims in reproducing individual death and social memory. The analysis revealed that the naming of the deceased was often distanced from the essence of ‘Japanese military sexual slavery victim,’ with public identities emphasized as ‘activist,’ ‘peace and human rights activist,’ or ‘donating angel.’ This suggests that self-sacrifice of women remains a dominant value in Korean society.
