Summary

This study investigated the perceptions of 190 pre-service early childhood teachers in the U area regarding good child observation through surveys and metaphorical analysis. The results revealed that pre-service teachers recognized the specificity of observation, affection and interest for children, understanding of development and growth, objectivity, and persistence of observation as important characteristics. These findings offer implications for child observation education and recording in teacher training programs and practical settings.
