Summary

This study analyzed the association between transportation convenience and unmet healthcare needs among the rural elderly in Korea. Unmet healthcare needs were significantly higher when transportation convenience was low, even after adjusting for existing factors. These results suggest that transportation should be considered when establishing policies to improve healthcare accessibility.
