Summary

This study examines recent trends in curriculum reform for the development of key competencies in Korean middle schools. Utilizing a conceptual framework of intended, implemented, and experienced curriculum, the research investigates the characteristics of the curriculum, changes and challenges faced by teachers, and students’ perceptions. Document analysis and reanalysis of survey data from middle school students were conducted to understand the current status of curriculum reform for competency development.
