Summary

This study investigated the usability of muunsan in the Donguibogam as a cosmetic material by analyzing its physiological activities. Muunsan extract exhibited high polyphenol content and DPPH/ABTS radical scavenging activity, inhibiting cytotoxicity and nitric oxide production, and demonstrating antimicrobial effects. These results suggest that muunsan extract can be used in manufacturing cosmetics as a natural substance with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects.

식생활 유형의 변화, 스트레스 증가 및 환경오염 등으로 인하여 성인병의 확산은 인류 보건에 커다란 위협이 되고 있으며 이들 질병에 대한 예방제 또는 치료제에 대한 수요는 날로 증가하고 있다. 또한 생활수중의 향상과 더불어 건강에 관한 관심의 고조 등으로 식품의 영양소 섭취 기능보다는 고도 기술을 이용한 식품의 생체조절 및 방어 기능에 관심이 고조되어 새로운 기술을 이용한 기능성 식품 개발을 통하여 의약과 식품의 중간형태로써 소비될 수 있는 새로운 식품 또는 주식보조용 식품분야의 창출이 시급한 실정이다. 본 과목은 곤충 및 곤충부산물의 생리활성을 검토하여 이들이 가지고 있는 새로운 생리기능을 밝혀 이를 대량 생산함으로써 부작용이 적으면서도 효능이 우수한 장내정화제, 항암제 등의 약품 및 식품개발의 원료뿐 아니라 생물농약개발로서의 활용에 기여할 것이다.
