Summary

This study investigated teachers' perceptions of English classes taught by homeroom teachers in primary schools and proposed institutional support plans and teaching methods. The results showed that both the subject-specialized system and the homeroom teacher system have advantages and disadvantages, and there was a positive perception of the possibility of English teaching by homeroom teachers. Institutional support included gradual introduction by grade level, activation of English training, and securing class preparation time, while teaching methods included content-based instruction, increased English exposure, and English reading instruction.
