Summary

This study investigated the stressors and coping strategies of college students in the context of English-Medium Instruction (EMI) in South Korean universities using a mixed-methods approach. The results revealed that students experienced 13 to 18 types of language-related, psychological, and academic stressors and employed nine coping strategies, including memory rehearsal, cognitive engagement, and social coping. Furthermore, the way students coped with EMI-related stress was related to their English proficiency, perceived social status, and prior extra English learning experiences.
