Summary

This study analyzed maker education theory, the PTD framework, and affordance theory to derive core design principles for makerspaces in early childhood education. The results identified eight design factors: playfulness, friendliness, autonomy, flexibility, connectivity, fluency, positivity, and engagement, collaboration, and sharing. These can serve as basic guidelines for designing makerspaces in early childhood education settings.
