Summary

This study explored the appropriateness of mathematics education in the national kindergarten and elementary school curricula through content analysis. The results showed that the quantitative gap in content between the kindergarten and elementary school curricula widened and consideration of content level linkage was insufficient after strengthening the educational content in the revised 2019 Nuri curriculum. The statement of educational content also showed a higher proportion of activity-based statements in kindergartens and performance-oriented statements in the lower grades of elementary school.
