Summary
This study compared the Korean and Spanish vowel systems and analyzed the vowel pronunciation of Korean learners of Spanish using acoustic phonetics. Applying Flege’s Speech Learning Model, the study investigated the degree of acquisition of Spanish vowels based on their similarity to Korean vowels, finding that vowels with higher similarity showed less difference from native speakers, while /o/ showed significant differences. No difference was found based on learning experience, which is thought to be due to the one-to-one correspondence teaching method between Korean and Spanish vowels.
