Summary

This study examined the relationship between emotional labor and burnout among local government employees in the public sector, and the moderating effect of public service motivation. The results showed that emotional labor had a positive effect on burnout, and public service motivation significantly moderated the relationship between emotional labor and burnout, suggesting that a high level of public service motivation can alleviate the negative impact of emotional labor on burnout.
