This study aims to provide implications for education policies and practices by tracking students who experienced the free semester system and to provide basic data for the implementation of the free school year. The results showed that the free semester system provided students with freedom from written examinations, but raised questions about resolving educational inequality, and parental influence was significant in career decisions.
