Summary

This study performed structural analysis and welding performance experiments to reduce the weight of the semi-automatic TIG welding device. Lightweighting was achieved through structural analysis of the wire feeder's main frame, application of a servo motor and reinforced plastic gear, and development of a new welding torch. The developed device satisfied working criteria in terms of welding speed, bead shape, feeding uniformity, and torch durability, and is expected to improve welding productivity and work convenience.
