Summary

This study proposes a methodology for the lightweight design of a bus body, complying with ECE-R66 regulations. An initial design was derived through iterative topology optimization, and gauge optimization was applied to adjust the thickness of the frame cross-sections, reducing structural weight by 2.5%. The roof structure was identified as the most significant design parameter for rollover safety.
