Summary

This study analyzed the impact of self-gift motivation on the perceived value and self-gift intention of performance viewing, reflecting the ‘Hongongjok’ trend emerging with the increase in single-person households. The analysis revealed that reward motivation, therapeutic personal disappointment, and therapeutic negative mood reduction significantly influenced self-gift intention, and there was a difference in these effects between solo viewers and those with two or more companions.
