This study examines how the image of the sea in ocean films has changed over time through the sign of maritime nature. Ocean films shape the times and new perceptions through sea images, serving as a medium representing cinematic thought. By analyzing Kim Soo-yong’s *Gaetmaeul* and Kim Han-min’s *Roaring Currents*, the study aims to identify the social and cultural consciousness and ideology of each era and contribute to elevating the status and value of ocean films.
