This study investigates the effect of syllabic features – word classes, types, and positions – on the probability of creating legitimate Korean words through random syllable combinations. The experiments revealed that preserving syllable positions, combining syllables from the same type, and using Sino-Korean syllables resulted in more real words, with noun syllable combinations being more productive than verb ones. These findings suggest that word classes, types, and positions significantly impact inter-syllabic combinations in Korean word formation, and syllables play a crucial role in organizing lexical representations.
