Summary

This study analyzed the factors influencing abuse and violence experiences of elementary school students in Busan and compared the differences between East and West Busan in terms of urban environment. Lower safety perception of residence was associated with higher levels of abuse and violence experiences among elementary school students in East Busan, and the installation of emergency bells and CCTV in school commuting zones was found to be insufficient. The findings can contribute to the development of urban environment improvement policies for the prevention of abuse and violence against elementary school students.
