Summary

This study analyzed the characteristics and causes of self-repair in Chinese Korean learners’ speech. The analysis revealed that learners’ repairs mainly focused on covert repair, and long pauses and meaningless editing terms frequently appeared. These repair characteristics were related to insufficient language ability, translational speaking habits, a lack of awareness of self-repair, and psychological factors.
