Summary

This study analyzed the effect of major-job congruence on job satisfaction and the mediating effect of salary across different academic majors. The results showed that higher major-job congruence led to increased job satisfaction, with salary partially mediating this relationship. Furthermore, labor market outcomes were attributed to differences in major-job matching opportunities, and the effect of major-job congruence was more direct than indirect through salary.
