Summary

This study analyzed the causes and types of internal and external conflicts occurring in the operation of cooperatives. In-depth interviews revealed that internal conflicts stemmed from differences in actor temperament, inexperience in operation, role confusion, value conflicts, and abuse of power, while external conflicts arose from a lack of local government interest, deficiencies in the legal system, competition, and hegemony. These conflicts need to be resolved for the sustainable growth of cooperatives, requiring policy measures and conflict management by actors.
