Summary

This study investigated the quality of reading assessment items in the 2017 CSAT and analyzed expert opinions to discuss ways to improve item development. The results showed an overall quality index of 3.81, with high scores for importance, completion, and sustainability, but lower scores for difficulty and originality. Positive opinions were expressed regarding the CSAT-EBS linkage policy and integrated texts, and the need for collecting opinions from field teachers and evaluation experts, as well as developing new item formats, was suggested.
